Portfolio structure
Figure 1 shows the structure of the Transport and Regional Services portfolio. The Portfolio Budget Statements 2000-01 included only those agencies predominantly funded, directly or indirectly, by the Commonwealth Government: Department of Transport and Regional Services, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the National Capital Authority.

Figure 3 shows the relationship of the Departments outcome and output framework to government policy and priorities and how the efficient delivery of the Departments activities contributes to the achievement of Government objectives:
