Through its Corporate Plan and its Client Service Charter the Department has articulated its corporate goals, and the importance it places on its people in achieving these goals
The Collective Agreement builds on these initiatives, balancing two major objectives:
- improvements in productivity through greater efficiency and flexibility; and
- improved working conditions and remuneration for people working in the Department.
These improvements will assist the Department to deliver and implement Government policy and programs, and to meet the specific goals outlined in the Corporate Statement. They will also help position the Department as an innovative organisation that is flexible in helping people develop their skills to undertake current and future tasks and to find the right balance between work and family.
The Collective Agreement 2006-2009 was in effect prior to the establishment of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
