The Air Navigation Regulations can be found under Commonwealth Legislation, Statutory Rules - Current Consolidations.

Air Navigation (Aircraft Noise) Regulations

General Requirements

Aircraft operating in Australia must meet noise standards specified in the Air Navigation (Aircraft Noise) Regulations 1984 (the Regulations). The Regulations also provide for exceptional circumstances where dispensations to enable limited operation of non-compliant aircraft may be applied for. Dispensations will include conditions that are intended to mitigate the impact of aircraft noise on the community.

Guidelines for the Operation of Adventure Flights

Aircraft owners/operators intending to conduct adventure flights should obtain a copy of the guidelines issued by the Department. These guidelines set out the required information and supporting documentation which should accompany an adventure flight application and the type of operating conditions that can be included when an adventure flight permit is issued.

NOTE: These guidelines may change if the proposed Fly Neighbourly Agreement approach to managing Adventure Flights is adopted.
