Safeguarding Airports and the Communities Around Them
The discussion paper "Safeguards for airports and the communities around them" was released in June 2009. It talks of the need for a coordinated approach to safeguarding issues and invited comment (the submission period closed September 2009). Nearly 100 submissions were received and considered in formulating the Government’s position in its development of Australias national aviation policy statement, the Aviation White Paper—Flight Path to the Future. The Aviation White Paper was released in December 2009.
The department has provided submissions on planning proposals that may have an impact or be impacted by airport operations.
