Australian Airspace Policy

The Air Traffic Policy Branch within the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government is a key adviser to Government on airspace and air traffic management policy.

  • The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, has made a new Australian Airspace Policy Statement, effective from 1 January 2010.

  • Legislation to give effect to the transfer of airspace regulatory function from Airservices to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority was enacted by the Parliament and came into force on 1 July 2007.
